Ace Ventura Challenges Disc Crew
From the twisted side of Mitch Dicken’s mind comes “Ace Ventura”, the new short basket location on Hole 16 at the Kiwanis Disc Golf Course. The basket is just 159 feet from the tees. Unfortunately, the first 150 feet are out of bounds, as is a swath of real estate that continues to the left side of the new basket position. The new location offers a high risk, high reward option. The BGR Supercomputer algorithms predict a whooping 61.4% of all drives on Ace Ventura will land out of bounds, which requires a one stroke penalty AND re-tee. Ace Ventura is now open for your discing pleasure or consternation.

Course Work Underway
Course work has begun on the new 13th hole at the Kiwanis DGC. In the first phase, brush has been cleared. Tee box and basket sleeve construction will follow. The new hole will tee off near the disc golf shed, with the basket tucked into the woods near the current hole 14 blue fairway. The hole is scheduled to open by the 2012 TAG Tournament, slated for March 17.
When the changes are completed, the current hole 10 will disappear. The ten basket sleeve will become an alternate sleeve for hole nine. Hole 11 will become hole 10, hole 12 will become hole 11, hole 13 (the pond hole) will be become hole 12, and the new hole will be hole 13.
The construction is taking place under the direction of SDGC President Louie Miller.
